Eria coronaria is one of the many varieties of orchids.

Nature is an endless source of inspiration for me. I can spend a long time observing a flower — its curves, lines and remarkable combination of colours — and then suddenly see in it the image of a future piece of jewellery.

That is how the Eria Сoronaria necklace came into being.

I was inspired by the orchid of the same name — unusual, delicate and slightly mysterious. In its form, I saw the movement of petals, a sense of lightness and, at the same time, an inner strength. I wanted to preserve this feeling and translate it from the world of flowers into the world of jewellery.

I created this necklace entirely by hand, combining 925 sterling silver and 14-carat yellow gold. The composition is adorned with fancy sapphires and a large amethyst, which became the central focus of the piece.

I paid particular attention to the setting of the amethyst. It is articulated, allowing the stone to move with the jewellery as it is worn. As a result, the light reveals the beauty of the amethyst in a slightly different way with every movement, so that it is never quite the same twice.

I did not want to create a literal replica of the flower, but rather its interpretation in jewellery — to convey the character of the orchid through metal, gemstones, movement and light.

For me, every piece of jewellery is a little story. Sometimes it begins with a flower, sometimes with a line or an unexpected combination of colours. And it comes to life when the metal and gemstones begin to speak in their own language.

In 2021, The neckelace Eria Coronaria was awarded third place in the Silver Jewellery category at the international jewellery competition “Battle of Jewellers”.

I am especially fond of this piece because it brings together the things I love most: nature, imagination, craftsmanship and the opportunity to transform a fleeting impression into something that can be treasured for many years.

Eria coronaria — a flower that once took root in my imagination and blossomed into a piece of jewellery.
